Privacy Policy
This page explains, in plain English, what happens to any information you share with South Wales Digital through this website. No jargon, no small print games.
Last updated: 19 July 2026
Who is responsible for your information
South Wales Digital is the trading name of David Mitchell-Dawson, a sole trader based in Cowbridge, CF71 7DW, United Kingdom.
The data controller for anything you send through this site is David Mitchell-Dawson. You can reach the controller directly at hello@southwalesdigital.com.
What information is collected
Contact form: your name, business name (if you give one), email address, current website (optional), the type of project, an approximate budget range, a preferred timescale and the message you write.
AI chat with Dave: the messages you type during the chat, and the summary you review and approve before it is sent as an enquiry.
Basic server logs: standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and timestamps. This is used only to keep the site secure and to troubleshoot problems.
Why your information is used
To read your enquiry and reply to you.
To keep a short record of the conversation so any follow-up makes sense.
To keep the website running securely.
Your information is never sold, rented, or used for advertising. You will not be added to any mailing list.
Legal basis (UK GDPR)
Legitimate interests: handling enquiries you actively send in and running the site.
Consent: where you choose to submit information through the contact form or the AI chat.
Who else sees your information
A small number of trusted providers help run the site. They only process what is needed to deliver their part of the service:
• Lovable — website hosting, database and the email sending infrastructure that delivers enquiry notifications and confirmations.
• Google — provides the AI model that powers the chat with Dave. Chat messages are sent to Google to generate a reply.
• The mailbox provider used to receive email at hello@southwalesdigital.com.
No advertising networks, analytics trackers or data brokers are used.
Where your information is stored
Information may be processed in the UK, the European Economic Area or the United States via the providers above. Where information leaves the UK, it is protected by the safeguards those providers put in place under UK data protection law.
How long it is kept
Enquiry details are kept for up to 24 months so any follow-up conversation has context, then deleted.
You can ask for your information to be deleted earlier at any time — just email hello@southwalesdigital.com.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
The only browser storage used is what is strictly needed for the chat and contact form to work during your visit.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of the information held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how it is used, and to have it provided in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, email hello@southwalesdigital.com. A response will be sent within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you are not happy with how your information has been handled.
Children
This site is intended for business owners and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new 'last updated' date.
